Youth Programs: PAL Program, Explorer Program, and DARE Program

PAL Program
Monterey County Police Activities League combats youth crime and delinquency in the unincorporated areas of Monterey County. We provide opportunities, leadership and life skills to youth today, for a better community tomorrow.

Explorer Program
The program is designed to bring together young adults interested in a law enforcement career and allows them to gain firsthand law enforcement experience.  The Explorer program is an effective program to build character, promote citizenship and develop personal and mental fitness.

The Sheriff's Office is seeking young adults ages 14-20 who are interested in becoming a Sheriff's Explorer/Cadet.

  • Explorers/Cadets participate in:

  • Community events

  • Department Functions

  • Explorer Activities

  • Many other projects

Other benefits include:

Meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at the Sheriff's Office on Natividad Road in Salinas starting at 5:30 P.M.
