Enforcement Operations Bureau - Records Division

The Records Division provides a variety of support services to the various Bureaus of the Sheriff’s Office and to all law enforcement agencies in Monterey County on a 24-hour, 7-day a week basis. The Records Division is located in the Public Safety Building in Salinas.

Clearance Letters - Letters may be requested with the Request for Local Criminal History Check or Solicitud Para Chequeo Criminal del Condado de Monterey. Request may be mailed to 1414 Natividad Road, Salinas, CA 93906. A $20.00 non-refundable fee is required at the time the request is submitted. Live Scan Applicant Fingerprinting - Appointments are required and are available Monday through Friday (holidays excepted) from 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM. The cost is $20.00, and applicant must bring Live Scan form. For an appointment or any questions, please call (831) 755-3700.

Vehicle Releases - Vehicle releases are available 24 hours a day. The release fee is $75.00. The following items are required for release: valid registration of the legal or registered owner, valid driver's license of the legal or registered owner, or a valid driver's license of a designated driver. Arrest Records - All booking records for Monterey County are maintained in the Records Division. Release of booking records is limited. For any questions, please call (831) 755-3700.
