Sheriff Mike Kanalakis Announces the Swearing-in of New Deputy Sheriff Recruit

Sheriff Mike Kanalakis is proud to announce the hiring of Deputy Sheriff-Recruit, Jorge Luis Perez. He was sworn-in on 11/26/07. Deputy Chief John Darling issued the Oath of Office and presented
him with his Sheriff’s Office badge. Family and friends of the new employee, in addition to numerous current Sheriff’s Office employees, attended the ceremony.

Jorge Luis Perez is a resident of San Benito County. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School and has attended Cabrillo College. Prior to being hired as a Deputy Sheriff, Perez had worked as a
Merchandise Manager for Costco Wholesale. It is with great pride that the Sheriff’s Office welcomes Jorge onto our team
