Deputies Benefit Association Employee of the Year for 2007

Detective Ruben Garcia is presented this award for conducting thorough, complete and accurate investigations that consistently go well above and beyond what is minimally acceptable. He has displayed a high level of resourcefulness and tenacity to ensure quality investigations and is always ready, willing and able to assist his co-workers with their cases as well. He has taken it upon himself to develop a Coroner training program for first responder officers with other agencies and is now an instructor at the Gavilan Police Academy. His positive attitude has greatly influenced his co-workers and the public. Over the past 26 years, Detective Garcia has performed an outstanding service for the citizens of Monterey County and is a credit to himself and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
