Sheriff's Posse and Posse Ground Information

The Monterey County Sheriff's Posse is a private non-profit corporation and is not an agency or department of the County of Monterey or the Office of the Sheriff.

The Posse maintains a 50 acre ranch located at 395 Old Natividad Rd on the outskirts of Salinas where they host numerous events including the BIG HAT BBQ, Junior Rodeo, District 4 High School Rodeo, 4H and other horse related community activities. The Posse rides in a number of parades throughout the year. Members provide their own horses, tack and equipment and use no public funds. Facilities are available for rent.
