Enforcement Operations Bureau - Crime Prevention Unit

The Crime Prevention Unit falls under the Enforcement Operations Bureau. The Enforcement Operations Bureau has several other divisions, the Patrol Division, Narcotics Division, Investigations Division, Homeland Security Division, Special Operations Division and Other Teams & Units. Chief Deputy John Darling is in charge of the Enforcement Operations Bureau, and Captain Charles Monarque serves as the Bureau Captain.

The Crime Prevention Unit was formed to assist the community and its citizens in the prevention of crime. Our Crime Prevention Specialists performing a wide variety of duties:

  • free home security surveys and training
  • establishing neighborhood-watch programs
  • rural crime prevention
  • gang awareness talks, business security surveys
  • commercial business burglary and loss prevention
  • review of Planning and Environmental Impact Reports for law enforcement related input and crime prevention through environmental design
