In the Fall of 2007 the Creative H'Arts Knitting Guild received a grant from the Monterey Rotary Club to purchase teddy bears. This was for a project titled "Precious Pals".  This project consisted of the Guild Members knitting outfits for the teddy bears.

On October 19, 2007 the Guild members and Guild President Kathy Lang, along with Monterey Rotary Club Member Alex Hubbard presented the bears to Sheriff's Office Coastal Station Deputy Joe Crivello for our Teddy Bear Program.

These bears were  given to the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center for their Monterey and Salinas offices. They were used to give to both adult and child victims of sexual assault at the time of their forensic exams.  The bears add a bit of comfort during such a traumatic time in their lives.

On April 4, 2008 a second group of bears were donated. This group of bears was made available to the Bailiff in Judge Marla Anderson's Adoption Court at the Monterey Courthouse.  These bears will be given to adoptees on the day they officially and legally begin their life with their new family."
